Jim Les and the Bradley Braves

Wow, what a difference a month or so can make.

At the start of the season, Bradley was a popular pick for the top 3 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Just three weeks ago, Bradley was 7-3 coming off an OT victory at Wright State after the close loss to Michigan State.

Now Bradley sits at 7-6, having lost 3 straight games overall and 3 straight home games this season! Not to mention the BU point guard, Daniel Ruffin, is out for at least a month.

Today, Peoria Journal Star writer Dave Reynolds noted that Jim Les has called the MVC race a marathon. Well, at this point, BU looks like the runner who went out too fast and has thrown his pace off. Without some Marion Jones technology, Bradley might be in some serious trouble.

As our friend from history, Thomas Paine was said, "These are the times that try men's souls."

Certainly, the Bradley Braves are going to be tried. Let's see how Coach Les and the team responds.

Bradley is in trouble.

Les is in bigger trouble.

Too early to tell. Oddly, Ruffin being out may help. New kid Sam can get it done, and in control and with skills.
